A carfree development for Croydon Rough Sleepers Project
Croydon Churches Housing Association has developed a 24 hour
Direct Access Hostel in central Croydon.
The scheme is a good imaginative use of redundant office space
and displays dedication to overcoming development problems. The scheme is an
excellent example of City Living housing with its close proximity
to transport and other key community facilities.
There several carfree and low car developments planned for Croydon, Presentation Housing Association has a 31 residential unit scheme that is carfree in Parchmore Road Thornton Heath, also the Telephone Exchange at Scarbrook Road is being converted in a mixed use development with 66 carfree
residential units.
Another significant scheme is situated at Whytecliffe Road South, Purley where another mixed use development consisting of 45 residential units with just two parking spaces is underway.
