The inner
London Borough of Hackney includes some of the highly congested
City areas in its south-most parts. It is also one of the poorest
boroughs in the country with a wide mix of housing, much of
it high density.
Currently there are a lot of new developments in Hackney and this is likely to continue with the forthcoming Olympics in 2012 being just one of a few significant driving factors. The number of carfree
and low car developments is also increasing, below are just some examples with more to be added as we get details.
257-269 Mare Street/ 280-288 Richmond Road and Martello Street, 143 flats, 17 live work units - under construction – mostly completed and occupied. Eight parking spaces in total.
2-46 Sedgwick Street, 56 residential units, 3 commercial units construction imminent. Four parking spaces (disabled/loading bays).
