The
Central London Borough of Lambeth lies along the southern bank
of the Thames and is home to some of London's highest density
housing. Recent extension of the borough's cpz's (controlled
parking zones) has raised significant revenues and increased
the pressure for carfree housing developments.
News of a significant new development in Lambeth, Water Lane Brixton. Genesis Housing Group have announced a new carfree development of 31 affordable homes expected to be completed by Summer 2008. Not only is this development carfree but also has a number of other sustainable features including 'green roofs'.
