One
of the outer London boroughs in the south, Sutton is well
known for its Zero Energy and carfree development at Beddington
(BedZed). With its futuristic styling this ground breaking
initiative has lead the way with carfree developments.
 
The developers of this project (BioRegional
Development Group) have produced a number of guides and
resources, some of which are available to download from this
site.
Other interesting features of the BedZed site include on-site
sewage treatment, charging points for electric vehicles and
a car club run by Smartmoves.
There are two low-car developments in Sutton.  Melbourne
Road, near to Wallington Station, has a large development
with limited car use and nearby car club facilities.
Further north Rose Hill is a low car development with an on site car club.
